AudioNotch review: does AudioNotch work?

Written by Adrian on May 05, 2019

To monitor the efficacy of AudioNotch’s tinnitus treatment we send two surveys at one and two month intervals after purchase. In this post we go through the results of the surveys. Please keep in mind the following:

  1. The percentages are not statistically representative of the actual results that exist: fewer than 10% of our active user base responds to the surveys
  2. We have about a 3% refund rate right now. Thus we believe that those who have a negative experience with AudioNotch would be more likely to respond to a survey resulting in … Continue Reading

Please note: the following information does not constitute professional medical advice, and is provided for general informational purposes only. Please speak to your doctor if you have tinnitus.

A sense of a “ringing” sound in the ears is referred to as Tinnitus. Tinnitus isn’t really an illness in and of itself. The condition occurs as a symptom of other conditions, which can range from ear infections, exposure to loud noises, depression, use of certain medications, tumors or other medical conditions like Meniere’s disease (which can also cause dizziness). There’s no question that needing constant treatment for ringing in ears can be … Continue Reading

McMaster is Running A Music Therapy for Tinnitus Study

Written by AudioNotch Team on June 03, 2014

Good news! If you’re in the Hamilton area, McMaster University (my former alma mater) is running a trial of a customized music therapy for tinnitus. Could it be Notched Music Therapy? We’ll have to wait and see!
McMaster University is currently running a study to test if a customized sound therapy can reduce a person’s tinnitus after several months of use. Because everyone’s tinnitus is different, we will provide participants with a customized music-based therapy tailored to their tinnitus. We will also provide participants withtheir own MP3 player and headphones, so that they can listen to the music they receive whenever and wherever … Continue Reading

I’m just going to come out right now and say it: Tinnitus Talk is the best tinnitus forum out there on the internet. Bar none. The level of discussion there, as well as the community and the quality of web site design, is superb. It’s a great resource and I recommend that anyone with tinnitus check it out. I wish it was around when I first had tinnitus. It’s just an absolutely great resource and a great community. Although we like to blog as much as possible on AudioNotch, a forum is a great resource for tinnitus news and research … Continue Reading

Written by AudioNotch Team on February 11, 2014

Based on the anecdotes I’ve received from a lot of AudioNotch users, I’ve come to believe that many physicians are not very well versed in the treatment options available for tinnitus and the level of research behind them…. Continue Reading

AudioNotch Releases Notched Natural Sounds

Written by AudioNotch Team on January 01, 2014

Notched sound therapy can function with a variety of auditory inputs that are then processed to remove the notch at the user’s tinnitus frequency.

Many of our users have asked us about using ambient natural sounds that fade into the background while they are listening, and furthermore, are pleasant to listen to and provide minimal distraction.

We’ve now created the option to listen to Notched Natural Sounds. Each Notched Natural Sound has a specified effective frequency range. If your tinnitus frequency exceeds this range, then there will not be enough sound energy for an effective Notch to be created and it … Continue Reading

AudioNotch Review & Success Rate Data – One Month and Two Month Surveys

Written by AudioNotch Team on December 20, 2013

For a long time, our users have asked us about the success rate of AudioNotch. And for a long time, we’d told them the truth: we don’t actually have this data, because not enough people respond to our internal surveys about the efficacy of our tinnitus treatment. Basically, a small percentage of our users respond to our automated feedback surveys, which are sent at one and two month intervals after purchase. So really, we only have a partial understanding of the data on our actual success rate.

However, we believe in allowing users to make an informed decision about whether to purchase a … Continue Reading
